I have hopes that both of these projects will move quickly – first is this cute applique mini-quilt. I’ve been looking at these sheep for forever – here they are in mid-assembly:

The second, I’ve already given you a peek at – I’m trying this new frame and so far do NOT like it. If [...]

Catching up – TAST Feather and TAST Cretan

Share

What a weekend! But I finally feel caught up. I was (because of the afore blogged about kitty project) behind on my TAST projects, but luckily the Cretan happens to be a stitch I love (and probably do too often) and the feather is also one of my favorites!

So, without [...]

New Fabric and progress on the tea towels

Share

Woo hoo! New fabric! (who doesn’t love that!).

This fabby number is for our kitchen curtains. Yep! My duaghter’s comment was  “Wow! Daddy will like cooking in here!” ha ha!

But I have to say, I think this fabric is really cool. I’ll put up a picture when I’m done, but keep [...]

TAST – a great way to finish a project!

Share

Actually I’m tackling this as a way to FINISH a project. TAST or Take a stitch Tuesday was started several years ago by the amazing Sharron Boggon  – I’ve officially signed up and am listed on this post – so I have to do it!

If you’ve never heard of it before, it’s an [...]

Embroidery project and new sewing machine series

To kick off my new and re-invented blog I’m going to have one day a week where I feature what I’m working on – this is what I’m stitching currently. Above is my new martini towel (for a friend). The one below is for Missy C’s collection of cat stitching on her wall:

New, quick projects – good for a color study?

Share

Missy C and I bought these kits a while ago at the Sewing Festival, they’re fun, quick projects.  They look like quilt blocks, but are in face just foam boards where you poke the fabric in around the edges (and use glue on the sides and back) to create a quick, finished project.

Missy C [...]

Stitching in public

Share

Every other week I meet with a group of crafty stitchers at Panera bread – the group started as an extension of my Crazy quilting group. We get together, several of us order dinner, at least one only gets a drink, there are desserts (we moved from a Starbucks because of the larger selection of [...]

A quick and easy project

Share

Another thing I did – weekend after last, was attend an exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. We’re so lucky to have this fabulous resource in Colorado! They have recently moved spaces (down the street) and the space is smaller, but more compact – and probably easier for volunteers.

The gift shop is fabulous! [...]

Crafty weekends – a series of posts!

Share

Note ** I have had so much going on, that I’m WAY behind on my posts, this is a post, I started two weekends ago – eek! Since then I’ve done a ton more, so the next few days will be post heavy! (brace yourselves, ha ha)**

So, the first weekend of Feb I went [...]
